NBA Finals.. yawn.

The only thing interesting about the NBA Finals this year is Steph Curry’s mom, and tbh, even she isn’t that interesting now that Father Time has gotten his ruthless hands upon her. Of course I’m not a Warriors fan, but even my friends who are don’t seem as enthused as they usually do. Is this due to the effects of a post-pandemic world? Or is basketball getting boring? Is my writing also boring?
The answer to all three of these is likely yes. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve stopped participating in Fantasy Sports leagues, and those were some of my finest memories from my younger years. There’s something about talking shit with your friends in a fantasy sport’s chat room that is timeless, which is why the tv show The League was such a hit (and surprisingly funny).
I could truly care less who wins the finals this year. The Warriors have already done it several times, I fucking hate the Celtics, and all of the fun teams in the playoffs this year have fallen to better teams. I really wanted to see Luka and the Mavericks make it this year. That would be super spicy, like my pre-marital sex life. Well that was very rarely spicy, but Luka in the finals would be Thai chili pepper level spicy. Gone are the days when I was poring over statistics, eager to kick my friends asses, starting beefs in the chat, or watching two guys from our league get into an actual fist fight over some heated fantasy sports shit talking that got way too personal (and also hilarious).
I hope that one day I enjoy sports as much as I did in my younger years, but who knows, maybe Tom Brady will do something great again, or Tiger Woods will make an epic return. Idk, I just feel like there isn’t anything compelling right now outside of the UFC, so go to my UFC channel, where I will be excitedly posting shit when I’m hyped af bro.

About
The Author
I wrote this blog for a few reasons. One is because nobody in my circle of friends ever puts me on to music or things that are dope that I haven't heard about (step your game up friends!) as few people nerd out as hard as me on the dumb things I focus on. The other and main reason is because I am so tired of The NeedleDrop and Pitchfork, from the way Fantano talks about music, to the way that Pitchfork writes about it. Both cause me physical pain to read or watch, yet I for some reason occasionally check their review scores, because they are the only sites I know that do stay on top of music (to a degree), and they focus on genres that I'm not tapped into, so occasionally I find something good. Is it worth the pain? No. So let me save you the pain, by only sharing with you my favorites, and maybe you'll find a new favorite. Oh and I also love talking shit, so I'll do that too, but this blog is about showing love to great art.
