I can’t stop playing this video. Tracks like this are the reason I use Instagram, because I get bored with music quickly, so I need to be on the up and up. This debuted today around Noon. Saw The Alchemist post on IG, and was surprised it was him with Hit-Boy, as they are both producers/rappers, but seemed like a somewhat random pairing that also made perfect sense. I had to check it out.
The video begins with Hit-Boy playing a beat then suggesting Alc should rap over it, and that after Alc could play a beat for Hit-Boy to rap over. Never seen that in a video, next level art in my eyes.
Then The Alchemist comes in and literally tears the Hit-Boy production to pieces, and it’s a phenomenal instrumental, the vocal sample is perfect. When the drums drop, it was/is over.
After Alc drops a one verse wonder, he then drops his beat, and Hit-Boys verse didn’t hit as hard for me on first listen, but after listening a few times, it’s safe to say he killed it too. He also calls out other producers for not being hip-hop, which was bold, but truthful.
This concept is genius, a perfect way to highlight the godlike talent of producers who also rap, which are a very rare breed, but happen to be some of my favorite artists. Literally one of the illest concept videos I’ve ever seen, plus the track concept of exchanging beats and mics, absurd.

About
The Author
I wrote this blog for a few reasons. One is because nobody in my circle of friends ever puts me on to music or things that are dope that I haven't heard about (step your game up friends!) as few people nerd out as hard as me on the dumb things I focus on. The other and main reason is because I am so tired of The NeedleDrop and Pitchfork, from the way Fantano talks about music, to the way that Pitchfork writes about it. Both cause me physical pain to read or watch, yet I for some reason occasionally check their review scores, because they are the only sites I know that do stay on top of music (to a degree), and they focus on genres that I'm not tapped into, so occasionally I find something good. Is it worth the pain? No. So let me save you the pain, by only sharing with you my favorites, and maybe you'll find a new favorite. Oh and I also love talking shit, so I'll do that too, but this blog is about showing love to great art.
