Kendrick Llama is Goated.

I wasn’t sure what picture of Kendrick to use here, but man The Heart Pt. 5 told me all I needed to know about his comeback. We all knew after this that he was about to tear shit up. Like To Pimp A Butterfly, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers (what will soon be known I’m sure as MMBS, hell it probably is already for all I know) is splitting audiences, which I absolutely love. People have even told me that MMBS is as unlistenable as TPAB. I’m not done comparing the two. To me, this sounds like the pop version of TPAB, being equally as challenging lyrically, but far more pleasing musically.
This album absolutely cements Kendrick as one of the greatest musicians of all-time. Every album since Overly Dedicated is flawless, though O.D. is hit or miss (the hits on O.D. fucking grand slams though). While you’re here, just go listen to Barbed Wire by Kendrick off of that, then come back. This needs to be an interactive blog, so as a reader I hope you will take my advice. As I matter of fact I am open to giving or taking advice from any of my devout readers. I couldn’t do what I do without you! Actually I could, as I am writing this with 0 following whatsoever. Shout out to Max at HHID, my fav and only blog I’ve ever loved. Let’s get back to MMBS. “Mirror” is my favorite Kendrick Lamar song of all-time now. I previously recall him saying something about the track “i”, like how he wanted people to sing out loud “I love myself” because it would make them feel good. Well “Mirror” makes me feel infinitely better than that overrated track. “Mirror” alone gives this entire album an 8/10 for including perfection. Goddamn. Just listen to Mirror on repeat. I’m done putting it in quotes. Go listen, shoo.

About
The Author
I wrote this blog for a few reasons. One is because nobody in my circle of friends ever puts me on to music or things that are dope that I haven't heard about (step your game up friends!) as few people nerd out as hard as me on the dumb things I focus on. The other and main reason is because I am so tired of The NeedleDrop and Pitchfork, from the way Fantano talks about music, to the way that Pitchfork writes about it. Both cause me physical pain to read or watch, yet I for some reason occasionally check their review scores, because they are the only sites I know that do stay on top of music (to a degree), and they focus on genres that I'm not tapped into, so occasionally I find something good. Is it worth the pain? No. So let me save you the pain, by only sharing with you my favorites, and maybe you'll find a new favorite. Oh and I also love talking shit, so I'll do that too, but this blog is about showing love to great art.
