A$AP Ant aka YG Addie

I know I already gave him track of the year, but his album Lil Black Jean Jacket 3 was also on my personal top 10 album list in what was a great year for music. This dude is just criminally slept on, he should be a superstar imo. He’s making the most A$AP type music that we all fell in love with from Rocky. His voice kind of sounds like Fergs, but also his own. Where he really separates himself is his beat selection, which is next level. Dude has an immaculate ear.
I’m writing this in 2023 cause I’m lazy, and he just dropped another track with his main producer he collabs with who goes by the name of LORDFUBU. Him and LORDFUBU are probably my favorite rapper producer duo that is working today. As a matter of fact, I can’t think of too many duos who are doing it right now. Huey Briss and Niko Beats are a dope one. I wish both Ant and Briss would make it official with these producers and just form a group, but it’s probably tough as far as branding goes.
I keep telling my friends to tap into this guy, but now that we are adults, most can’t find time to tap in. Then eventually they will bitch to me about music today being shitty. Sigh. I might not be politically woke, but my music taste damn sure is.

About
The Author
I wrote this blog for a few reasons. One is because nobody in my circle of friends ever puts me on to music or things that are dope that I haven't heard about (step your game up friends!) as few people nerd out as hard as me on the dumb things I focus on. The other and main reason is because I am so tired of The NeedleDrop and Pitchfork, from the way Fantano talks about music, to the way that Pitchfork writes about it. Both cause me physical pain to read or watch, yet I for some reason occasionally check their review scores, because they are the only sites I know that do stay on top of music (to a degree), and they focus on genres that I'm not tapped into, so occasionally I find something good. Is it worth the pain? No. So let me save you the pain, by only sharing with you my favorites, and maybe you'll find a new favorite. Oh and I also love talking shit, so I'll do that too, but this blog is about showing love to great art.
